I really miss the classic controls of OS 1 and 2 in XL, which were really intuitive. You just had to click the arrows left or right ones to jump to the start and endpoint and twice to jump to the next slice. This doesn't work no more in XL and I don't like it. I think if the majority feels the same way as I, we should let JJ know, to bring back this great control scheme.

i would prefer it similar to os1/0s2 but i iike the regions feature in principle, its just a pain when your going through chops in the forward direction of the sample that there more button presses back and forth. as a work around ive been going right to the end of the sample, and then going backwards through it with the left arrow adjusting the start times.

With "classic" I meant the OS 1/2 control scheme. I like the regions selection feature of XL too, but it has to go elsewhere, so that it does not interfere with the workflow, for it's only needed for jumping between slices which are far away from each other. By now, I use the same workaround as you.

I'm all for this... I also really want JJ to return the ability to hear the end point when you are editing. If you hit the pad and adjust the endpoint now, it keeps playing the start of the sample. This makes it much harder to edit end points. I know I'm not alone on this one. I asumed that it was an oversite and that it would be corrected rather quickly, but I have already seen it mentioned a few times and it remains the same. I hope it didn't have to be pulled out. I also miss the ability to toggle between Loop Off, Loop On, and Alternate Loop with the push of one button...

i agree the classic controls of the os 1-2 trim screens were alot more functional than xl but when was the last time any of you folks used the akai os? You talk about painful.... life has way to many options this is the reason why we nit pick the little things.

Good point, I almost forgot about this. This is very important as well!

Today I found out, that the "old" control scheme ist still included: you dont need to turn the wheel to select a slice! When the cursor is on the slice field, just, hit ">" one more time and the next slice is selected. I can live with that!

So this poll can be locked down I guess!
