why? have you seen many other people saying they can get 8gb cards to work?

i didnt know you couldnt use an 8 gb flash card. what's the highest you can use?

have you read the sticky? after 200+ posts, maybe you should. (2GB as far as im aware by the way)

I use an 8gb card, and so do several other people here. One guy wrote that he's using a 16gb card, with no problems.

Side note-- Get a fast card if you can afford it... it does make a difference.

Sandisk "Extreme III" 8GB. I got this card from Amazon.com for only like 30 bucks, great deal. Literally 3 times as fast load/save as my old card (Sandisk Ultra II 2GB).

It's probably worth trying the Extreme IV card if you have the money.

yo elevated i got the card but when its in the mpc it will freeze up im workin with jjos1 4.99i which

OS do you have its the sandisk extreme 3 8GB. also does anyone know how to format the card on jjos1? the manual says

to go to mode load and press f3 for the utility but this is for usb in jjos1 i dont remember if it was like this in the akai os.

anyway if it doesnt work then ill have to eat my hat but hey it was only $30 so i cant really complain. any ideas would

Copper-- Sorry to hear that...!! never had that problem personally. I do have the exact same card. I'm using 2XL, and have also used the card in OS1 and OS2.

Did you buy this CF off FleEbay? I heard many of the brand new media cards on there are knockoffs, and may not work as well. Just FYI. Also i'm from BK, what neighborhood in Queens are you?

true. yea i got it off amazon. im gonna keep tryin for some other card. yo im in astoria! i think im gonna try and mod my mp like that new sticky post instead of the hard drive.

You serious?... that whole project is kind of pointless to me. The point of keeping everything on a CF card it's REMOVABLE! You don't wanna be backing up your files through that USB 1.0 connection. If I were you I would get a card reader... assuming you don't have one already. Then format CF on the computer...

The card you got is probably legit... did it come with the packaging and that goofy little case?

yea i have a cf reader and i formatted it on my computer but it still happens. it just came in bubble wrap which means no good prob? ehh ill try it again tonight. thanks again man for the help.
