$4000 dollars worth of audio gear and you don't know what cables to use. /sigh Use 1/4 inch instrument cables to capture audio from the fantom, standard midi-cables to capture midi data.

Sorry. I thought when you said,

"What type of cables do i need to do that"

that you wanted to know what type of cables to use. My bad.

If you want to hear them together, you will need a mixer.

hah he didnt catch on the sarcasim up there...maybe?

anyway, what kind of mixer do you have? or is it an audio interface? if u tell us what i kind i can let u know how to hook it all up so that you can sample sounds from the fantom to the mpc through the mixer, and still be able to hear them both independently through different channels

Make sure you only use monster cables, and nothing shorter than 20 feet, otherwise it won't sound good at all.

And also, make sure you get the nicest midi cables too. It is very important.
