i have a quik question:

if i am wanting to transfer data from my old flash card to my new one can i load up a load of samples from the old card, and then eject the card and insert the new one and then save it ?

i am basically wandering whether i will corrupt the card if i eject it with the machine on ?

any advice?

cheers

THE REASON YOU WANT TO UPGRADE IS SO THAT YOU CAN HAVE MORE THAN 2 MIN WORTH OF SAMPLE TIME (LIKE A SOUL SAMPLE YOU WANT TO CHOP UP LIKE KANYE) AND WHEN YOU UPGRADE TO THE 128MB YOU CAN SAMPLE LIKE 24 MIN PER SONG!! WHICH IS REALLY HANDY FOR PEOPLE WHO SAMPLE HEAVY AND DONT WANT TO TAKE BIT AND PIECES OF SAMPLES...
BUT I HAVE A QUESTION OR ANYONE OUT THERE.. I HAVE AN MPC 2500 AND I WANT TO MAX OUT THE RAM...IS THE RAM AND THE SAME RULES APPLIED FOR A MPC1000 AND ITS RAM AS THE MPC2500???
PLEASE LET ME KNOW CUZ WITH YOUR GUYS TIPS I WILL GO AND BUY SOME THIRD PARTY BRAND TONIGHT AND UPGRADE IT BUT I HAVENT HEARD ANYONE SPEAK ON THE MPC2500 YET
THANKS,
"C3"

For anyone in the UK...

Memory - I just bought mine slightly cheaper @ £5! Works perfectly, but the guy on eBay seems to have no more left.

Next best is here...

And for storage, I just bought a PEAK Hardware 2GB CF card for £8 - works great. Try your local non-chain of PC store.

Pimped out my MPC500 for £13. Very happy indeed.

Has anybody tried CL2 memory and did it work sucessfully. Wouldn't of thought a tight CAS Latency would stop it working and am asking as CL2 seems to be easier for me to find than CL3, 144pin, PC2100 SODIMMs.

Also has JJOS been able to unlock the ability to use more RAM (not heard anything about it so guess not) or is it a limitation of the physical memory controller? Would be nice to be able to double that, or take it even further.

Sorry if either of these have been covered. Read first few and last couple of pages, not the entire thing.

So as I can read, the 8GB comact flash cards seem to work flawlessly on the 1000.

Has anyone tried a 16GB card yet?

Kingston 133X ELITE PRO Compact Flash Cards 16GB can be found nice and cheap these days (20.99 GBP = 23.7958 EUR) So I'm thinking about getting me one of those, if someone can confirm me it works.

Kingston 133X ELITE PRO Compact Flash Card 16GB

Just got this card today. Works flawlessly. Actual memory is about 15 gb (in jjos 4.99).
Good deals on this card out there. Eliminates my need for a harddrive, thouigh a tad slower. Still it's easier to bring your work or entire sample library (in my case) to another mpc.. :)

Greetings from Scandinavia..
