most importantly, the difference between the 4000 and the 2500 is that the 4000 uses 960 pqn and the 2500 uses 96 pqn...thats the resolution....so when turning your quantize off, there are ten times as many ticks/points where the strike of the pad will land.....i have recently bought a 4000 comin from a 2500 and learned the basics real quick....i just sold my 2500 on ebay so that says it all really....cant see any use for it now owning the 4000....sick filters, sick punch, sick effects....need i go on....

If you want to switch over from 2500 to 4000, you should be aware that there is no permanent input through on the 4000. I also used this alot on the 2500 and I am missing that possibility right now.

If you press PLAY START several times in series, unlike on the 2500, the sequence won't begin to restart. Sometimes this is fun if playing live.

Otherwise, I more and more delve into the 4000. Having a real synthesizer onboard is fantastic.
Q-Link implemention is done better than on the 2500 - there are a lot of destinations to choose.

thanks for the link about the 4000..i have a 2000xl and i was thinking of getting a 4000..this just confirmed it.
