Mpc 2000xl hack

Why would Akai care? They dont produce the unit or support it anymore......

I can see it taking a HUGE bite out of sales in the 500/1000/2500/5000 arena; that might be a problem though.....

Hmm...... I wonder if Akai will sue the programmer of the JJOS in a few years when the sales of the 1000s and 2500s drop.
That would be a good move (commercial thought)

I dont get what you guys are saying about how jj's os does not keep sales of mpc's down. Would you buy a 2500k if you knew that your 1k with jj' os would have the more features for less!

the fact remains.. the 2500 physically has more features then the 1000 regardless of OS...

you can make the comparison if both machines were running the akai OS.

so is it too early to ask for a normalize function?

you propably dont know a lot about its internal hardware structure, how to make all the blocks work for you as you want it to.
what I mean JJ OS is made by a person who propably worked or still works for akai as a programmer, thats where he got the source from and could make it work better for a user.

even during dissasemblying of the software, you would get some blocks of the source code but you could also get in trouble as it is reverse engineering and if you used some parts of the code into your OS you still can`t sell it because its copywritten as well as the akai mpc 2000/2000xl design itself.

the mpc 2000/2000xl is a computer based hardware so this should make
it a bit easier, still i don`t think you or anybody else could do it 'like that'.
its not the thing of waking up in the morning and saying,'today im gonna make my own mpc Operating system' IMO.

if you got your xl mastered and are sick with it ,why would u need more features ? unless maybe you cant grasp and manipulate the existing features which would mean.......... u suck!

^^^Once Ive "mastered" something I tend to want to move on and learn something new. If I "mastered" my MPC, I would want newer features to keep me thinking of new workflows/methods of creating.
