MPC 1k, OS2XL v. 1.11 DIRECTORY ERROR, the RETURN OF!!!!!!!!

Few minutes ago, I was startin' another beat. For that I downgraded to OS2. Chopped a sample, next, I wanted to load drums. So I hit Load... (still with me?)
Now, you won't believe this: Instead of taking me to the load screen, the Record Dialog popped up? I wa like "huh?"... tried it again in slooooooow-mo: M O D E.... P A D 2..... damn, the record section again.... tried other functions. Mode Pad 3 opened OPE... Mode Pad 7 opened patteren Edit... totally weird 5hiiat....

Just in case: yes I am sober, no psycho-active drugs in my system. But thats just me, don't know what mr. 1k is on
Anyways, it just turnt me off, so I just turned the machine off and thought: kcuf dat, are they programming viruses and tojans for mpcs too, nowadays? LOL

I've just got the os2xl and this is the first time ever I have had a problem writing to flash memory, correspondingly my compact flash memory was erased, could be coincidental. Your problem may be hardware related what happens if you just strike pad 2 does it set off pad 5 ?

I posted earlier that I was having a problem loading a few large file onto my hard drive from my PC. I tried loading it onto my CF card instead and the same WAV files are not there. This seems to only be happening to these same two files. Everything else is loading just fine for me. I'm really beginning to think that there is a problem with the original files, even though the WAVs do play on my computer. Other than that, I always create new folders, I learned this the hard way, and save entire memory. Hope all is good...

OK, a few more details on the compact flash erased memory. I was transfering files from computer to DF card via card reader. I stopped a transfer as it was taking too long (for some reason small midi files were taking ages to transfer, so I just cancelled the move of files, (perhaps I didn't do the safe eject thing), to this stage no mpc involved, I did have os2xl on the CF card. Transfered it to mpc and no files on card, in fact the card has become completely unrecognisable
