While JJ has done a great job of releasing OS updates and quickly providing bug fixes...I have mixed feelings if this is the sort of thing Akai should do. Being a beta tester by nature, I wouldn't mind if Akai does the same. But for professionals that just want the machine to work as advertised, this may not be a good look.
I absolutely agree with you... I personally prefer to have the new OS2 released later but stable... you know, when you are working on a track... and the machine freezes... AND YOU LOSE EVERYTHING!!!! I've paid nearly 2000 EUR for a machine that's unstable!? are you kidding me?
akai should do like many other manufacturer do... release a STABLE os and a BETA os... so anyone is free to choose whether to have installed...
ps: any chance to have a jjos also for the 5000?
What manufacturers? I can't recall seeing Yamaha, Roland, or Korg doing such a thing. As far as a JJ OS for the 5K? You mean you wouldn't mind paying for an OS that gave you all the features that you want? I don't think it will happen but I would be willing to pay for it. I created a thread on this topic with mixed opinions....
