Word whatever gets the job done at the end of he day, Im not worried about the sound too much from the PT01. The sound of my music is not dependent on it since I use mainly synths and keyboard sounds.

yep. i have the handy trax and i only use that when i'm going to muddy a sample up a lot. doo doo. good for digging, bad for sampling.

I get enough amp out of my PT-01 and it works just fine.

Granted it's not going to sound as good as a TT with say an M44-7 on it but it'll do to get a decent sound out.

i've got a pt-01 and a numark table with a nice shure cartridge. for listening enjoyment i use the nice table... but i'm about to take my rig on the road so i might buy a handy trax (it seems like it'd fit in a backpack better than a pt-01. there is def a difference in sound but if its what you got to work with it shouldn't really matter. hmmmm... thought... what if you tape a better cartridge to the portable table.. i dunno. invent some new way to rock a nicer needle?

it's not the just the cart/needle combo... the plastic tonearm plays a big part in this equation as well.

I own a pt01 tt, and after sampling both on my vestax pdx turntable with rtofon cartidge and the numark pt 01 sampled sound resulted in a thinner sound, the bass frequency didn't really came thru in the sonical image.

So now I use the numark for diggin' or just for lazy listening sessions

I have to add something...

The pt 01 isn't a crappy turntable,I really like it. I also owned the vestax handy trax a few years ago but sold it. The numark is better sounding then the handytrax, it's just that the sound quality can't really compete with a hi-end cartidge amplified on a turntble mixer. the pt 01 has about the same pricetag as what u get for buying only a shure/ortofon cartidge.
