Nah that's cool man, I just missed that thread. If I can get a good price on the Miko I may buy one later in the year.

I've just spent the last half hour checking out the addendum and going through my mpc's new functions.

They've tended to our wants, desires, needs, and then some, from what I see...even down to the 4000's capability of automatically going to the next sample rather than you having to scroll from the beginning each time....they even included my idea....or something like it...which was being able to preview samples in a list form with auto audiitioning (except its only for samples already in a program, not ones you haven't assigned :( and its not "auto," you have to press a pad)

NOW let's see what these other muthan__az got to say!

*drops mic and walks off*

[Now, i'm pretty sure several "We Love 2.0!" threads will pop up in the near future, so to separate this thread from the others if possible, just note if this update included a specific feature you may have requested, and/or just a particular feature that really made your day...MINUS THE KEYGROUPS CAUSE WE ALREADY KNOW EVERYONE LOVES THOSE  ]

Being a faithful supported of the MPC line since 1997..I really want to give props to Akai/Numark/Alesis for listening to users and creating OS 2.0. It really adds some nice features that make the 5K even more enjoyable. I give them an "A" grade for their efforts.

Personally, it includes some of my feature requests:
1. Global program editing via Multi-pad select
2. Bit reducer
3. Auto assign folder of samples to a program
4. Cancel option when loading folder
5. Sample layer crossfade
6. Akai S1000/3000 compatibility
7. Auto-cue next sample when creating a program
8. Synth preview
9. Assign samples to a program in Trim Mode
10. Recall sample assigned to pad in Trim Mode

However..being the kind of guy I am..there are still some things I would really like to see in the MPC 5000 or MPC 6000 (if they choose to make one)..which are:
1. Trim Mode Improvements (Scrolling cursor, Manual/non-destructive chopping, covert chopped regions to Keygroup program)
2. Effect Insert in Recording Mode
3. Import Patch Scripts
4. Record on all 8 hard disk tracks at once
5. Independant settings for each sample layer
6. Effects/Compressor - add multiband, side chains, reduction meter
7. Q-links to adjust Sample/keygroup program parameters like Synth Prgm
8. Preview/Import audio CD format into hard disk tracks
9. Captibility with Roland, Emu, MP3, and Rex file formats
10. DAW style mixer channel strips (EQ, send/insert FXs, read/write automation buttons, etc)

Can you be more specific about exactly what your issue is?
