Tha Needle on your turntable

Hey yo, was just thinking, are skratch needles like the numark tony touch and sht much different in sound to say a nice Hi-fi needle....Should I be changing needles between sampling and skratching for better sample quality?

I'd think that skratch needles would chew the fk out of the audio to get it louder... dunno, just thinking out loud.

In addition u guys run decks thru mixer first or direct to mpc??

DJ needles are definitely not good for hi-fi applications. They are sturdier and accent lower frequencies for bass which is good for scratching.
The best bet, like you said, is to alternate between a hi-fi and dj needles when sampling.
But keep in mind... if you scratch on a record and then try and sample from it using a hi-fi needle, you will be defeating the purpose of swapping needles. Your record grooves will begin to wear out.

its called Record burn yeah when the needle burns ito the wax cos it gets 2 hot from da friction moving back & forward?? does that sht just add more pops or does it do other sht to the audio.....

It lessens the audio... sounds muttled. And it sounds like sh*t.

skratching back and forward will make the record sound noisy with a constant hiss.

Just switch...have one for recording puposes and one to **** up doing scratches

how often do you find two of tha same record when your digging?!?!? I think ill buy a hifi needle and sample all the record first, then do the cuts afterwards with my numark needle and it wont matter bout the record.

nah record wear... im not fussed about the needle theres millions of those things floating round. but if you stumble across a hot obscure wax theres not much chance you'll run into the exact same one again in this lifetime...
My needle can take the sht... its the records im worried about...

Im thinking about putting my own battle vinyl together.. anyone ever done that?!??
