Need advice on whether to buy this or not...

18 boxes of records for $120 bucks. seller is unsure what kind of records there are, but knows that there are "some hip-hop ones, and idk how to describe the others."

right now, i'm thinking of going without money on me and taking a look at em. if i like what i see, i'll hit up the bank and come back.

thoughts? never did a deal like this, which is why i'm askin.

If you make 5 beats from the samples you get and sell 50 copies you've made your money back. I'd snap it up and take a chance.

i'm trying to get the guy to list some of them... shouldn't be a big deal.

Just go and see them. If you're only interested in a couple he might just sell them separately.

You didn't actually specify whether you were interested in buying them for samples, or to DJ/add to your collection? I think that makes a difference as you can get really good samples from average music.

just buy them... and if they suck, sell them on ebay as lots... each crate starting at $10 plus shipping... 18 crates times ten would be $180 minimum which is 50% more than what you paid in the first place. simple math. and no i don't sell drugs

A guy I know buys job lots of records all the time. He'll always haggle, then get the stack home, take out whatever he wants to keep, and then list the rest on eBay. He supplements his income quite succesfully doing this.

It does take some effort, but if you end up selling 10 records for $10 each, then you're doing well. And don't be scared about listing any old crap on eBay - people look for all sorts of records everyday, and they sometimes pay surprising amounts of money even for the weirdest sh*t you've probably never heard of.

i hit him up like three times and haven't heard back from him... i'm guessing some lonely guy with a van somewhere scooped the records up straight away or something because dudes not calling me back.

good to know what you all would do if you had the opportunity. after almost copping these i had the fever so i went to the swap meet.
