Hey had a quick question... I just started to use battery and i must say its convenient for alot of percussion sounds and random effects. However, I still use my MPC3k for my kicks, snares, and samples.

The problem is, when i use the MPC Pads to control Battery, my internal sounds keep firing. So i wanna lay a percussion down hitting the pads, but the kick that corresponds to the pad in my MPC also sounds. However, when i press a key on my keyboard, its all good. naturally i want to use the pads. I also tried to change the program number on the seq page but that didn't do anything. Any ideas?

One other thing i have is a Korg padKontrol that i havent tried to hook up to midi just yet. Anyone have luck in this department?

the padcontrol works well with battery.

the 3k has a setting to turn off local control of pads.

so the sounds wont trigger

press midi + 2

local control = off

awesome. not at the studio so i cant try for a few hours. does this mean on my drum tracks i can trigger internal sounds and on midi tracks i can turn this off? do i have to toggle local control on and off for every track? THANKS

This is off the top of my head.

Did you try changing "DRUM" to "MIDI" on the main page. Make sure that you have selected the correct midi port and channel where the Battery sample is located. That might do the trick.

Of course I am away from my MPC3K.
