ok I have a LAYLA20 sound card, p3 1ghz with 256megs or ram, linked up with my mpc and im runnig logic 5.5.

when I hit record on my on my computer it hesataes (sp) for a second or two and doesnt record the very first part of the first bar thats being played out by my mpc. Would more memory cure this problem or is it something ill alway have to deal with ?

thanks for any help

More ram always helps, but you can always add a blank sequence at the begining in the mpc so you never miss the first beat.

yeah more memory might help

try to install an extra 512MB, it will literally boost your Pc in most applications, especially when music related...

so your computer is hesitating.

funny I have a similar problem, but it's on the MPC side...many others have the same issue as me. I have the MPC4000 MTC sync'd to the PC. When you hit rec the MPC won't play any sound for the first beat or so....really weird. You have to insert a blank space. If it loops back around it is fine, only when the initial rec is hit does it have the problem.

yeah i got the 4k also but this happend when I had my 2k aswell. good to know its not just me. funny thing is when recording to my vs1880 this does not happen at all which leaves me to belive that its on the part of the computer and not the mpc when this happends.
