21 questions :)

yo i got a couple of questions:

1. when i create a song on the mpc i would like the volume of my last four bars to self-decrease(you know it's used ina many songs in the ending so the song is gettin quieter and quieter as it finally ends) it has to be quite simple but i have no idea how to do it

2.Is there any possibility to mess with each of the 16 levels ? i mean i put a sample into 16 bars mode and I choose velocity from the options I would like to change the velocity of each pad manually . how to do it??

3. How to convert a song from mpc into mp3??


4. I made a song using 3 programs . I saved it. When I loaded the song next time it wasn't good as it was played only with 1 program so some of the sequences(those made on this particular program) were good but other ones, done on the other programs were **** up. how to create a song using a couple of programs that would sound right??

1. you can record mixer automation but that would be a pain in the butt. Better to track out your beat on the computer and do that in an audio editor.

2. nope. only thing you can do is copy the pad to other pads and adjust the other pads.

3. either do #1 above, or convert the song to wav in the mpc and transfer it to the computer. once its in the computer then you can convert to mp3. the mpc can't convert wavs to mp3s.

4. try loading those programs (or the missing samples) again after you load the project file or whole folder. sometimes all the samples won't load into the program when you load the project file or the whole folder.

#4 is a bug that came back from the dead. stay tuned for the bug fix...

how do u change it to wav? im having this problem too

use audacity,its a free program that will allow this..

To "change it to WAV" in the mpc you need to resample the outputs. Go to Record mode, set the input to MAIN OUTS, start sampling, and press play on the sequencer. You can then sample your entire sequence (or your Song converted to sequence).

ok.. so i have my whole song as a sequence.. and as elevated said, i have to record it.. i tried doing that but it only lets me record one second.. please help!!

Or your sample memory is full up of samples. PS-- If you have JJ OS2 or above, there is a feature to automaticly resample your song in Song mode

Not sure if this has ever been mentioned to JJ, but would JJ ever make it possible to where you could record a song,and the OS would have the capacity to bounce down each track/instrument to a separate audio channel?

Guaranteed the processor doesn't have enough juice to record multiple simultaneous tracks of audio. So for that idea to work it would take a long time, recording the entirety of each track in real-time and then moving on to the next automatically.

And then all those long samples from each bounced track would be sitting in your RAM. Pretty unlikely for this idea... hopefully you didn't already write something to JJ about it.

Actually it shouldn't take that long ,providing the audio clips are not that large.Say 8 bar loops - say 16 different instruments.

Record these to audio - these will be now stored in RAM

Bounce these to DAW..

Erase the samples in memory,and continue.

Surely the processor has enough juice? Maybe you meant processing power/cycles for that.Sure it would.If it can record 12 minutes worth of samples into RAM,and then reload that into RAM,it can easily process 16 8 bar loops of midi converted/recorded into audio.

This would make DAW work/TRANSFER a bit easier no? As you could simply bounce down stems of audio vs. midi
The end user would need to understand it is not a quad core processor,and use it in the way I described.. Plenty of Juice for that!

Either way I record midi into DAW/then import the audio from my .pgms into cubase 5 via Groove agent one,so I'm not complaining as my workflow is much faster with C5,just saying it would/could possibly be a nice update for JJ to attack an idea like this vs. what a q-slider update??

Yeah, I meant enough juice for sampling more than one track at the same time.

Automating this would be helpful for the people who do things your way. Everyone has different priorities of course. I would much rather see the bugs in XL fixed, and of course fixing up the garbage simult pad mode.

quite an interesting topic actually...after reading this i'm gonna try song to sample in solo mode to just bounce individual tracks to sample and transfer all those to DAW after the fact. maybe the timing will be tighter than MTC...with no annoying empty bar edit needed in MPC and no annoying loop editing due to sync offset needed in DAW..could be genius!

fade out is that what you are looking to do? just record a sequence to song mode then dump into a daw , while doing so decrease your main volume knob slow and steadily.
