Just to make it clear.. The MPK49 doesnt have a MPC built into it.. it only have pads like the MPC.
MPC is a sampler, MPK49 is a controller, two diffrent machines.

Most of us do not use the MPK because most (99.8%) of us have MPC's. So in all honesty, the read the Manual statements are the best we can do here on this particular site.

To the original poster there is a midi learn function in battery. Hit the learn button and then hit the pad and voila its assigned. Do this for all 12 pads and save the battery patch and the mpk patch. If you cant figure out how to use the midi learn function do a search on google or check your manual.

And us not mastering our MPC's after years of having them should help you how.... Your arguments and attitude are being wasted on us.... Now if I owned a MPK49 for years and could not answer your question, that would be a different story.
