CD-Rom no longer lets me lift samples?

Was trying to lift a sample from a CD using the 4000's CD-Rom the other day.

Now for some reason I cannot get the CD to play.

When I load an album, the MPC shows only one track and the time display remains as 0:00.

I can cycle through the (correct number of) tracks on the CD using the "Bar" soft button

Used to work just fine.

Anyone else had this issue? (Iomega Zip CD650 Recordable/ Rewritable)

Thanks, I'll try that before I reach for the screwdriver.

I think maybe somehow the cdrom cable ,inside the machine, has come a little loose.
