pad fix

ok so i took my 500 apart last night for a trial and error type deal,,and upon placing double sided sticky pads to the bottom of the mpc pads i noticed there was about a centimeter of the stick pads lower than the mpc pads(but i re-installed to test and upon testing i noticed that a bunch of pads trigger other pads,,,,so i made the double sided sticky pads much smaller(about half the size),,again too big causing other pads to trigger,,,,so i took it apart again and grabbed the masking tape

then i cut pieces of the tape to about the size of the bottom of the mpc pad...i took three pieces,the same size,and placed them one on top of another and then placed the three stuck together pieces to the bottom of the mpc pad..

this works great,no more jamming on the pads and no more miss-triggering...you guys should try,,much cleaner than silicone!!

In the 1000 forum I saw how elevated did this with silocone(Nym's idea) and he says he now can tap the pads with just light taps of one finger.

Is the two-finger death-touch a thing of the past?

i can use one finger this way also and tap much lighter...i really dig the silicone idea because its more advanced,,but at 1:30 am the only things i had to use were things laying around the house..i might go for the silicone one day but this is working fine for now..

This method is the expressway because silocone dries overnight. I would try this too just to feel the difference. Then try the silocone thing later because you have to have a perfect amount for each pad and can be messy.

But seriously, I wish I was brave enough to tear mine apart like that.
I might be forced to soon if I never get used to using the Dim Mak just to hit a snare.

i just peeled off the rubber sheet off of a ping pong paddle here at work, shhhh... i'm gonna do some testing...well see how it goes.....

word, it worked!!! and works well... i can tap the pads with ease without using "full level!" i can tap softly or hard and it registers my taps, expression is good... i can adjust the pad sensitivity and curve adjustment... if you have a ping pong paddle around, just peel off the rubber sheet... the rubber sheet of the paddle covers the pad section of the mpc by the skin of its teeth, so i was able to square it up with the mpc pad sheet. i took a sharpe, traced over each side, made my trims so that the paddle sheet is the same as the mpc pad sheet... dotted where the six holes are at, i took an xacto blade and was able to cut out small holes so that the little pegs in back of the mpc pad sheet would sit over the paddle sheet and right into the holes... bam! fast, easy, clean and it works! pads are still stiff but you can now tap with ease....

But, like what NYM stated, the problem is in the OS and he's right...

this is just a "temporary fix," as the real problem lies within the OS... this time i'm gonna try to use the thin foam from the paddle instead of the rubber... haha i "exaggerated" the phrases, "tap with ease" and "expression is good..." but i can now tap without using full level and expression is better than before...
