is the mastering side of the machine good? like does it at least bring all the mixes up to commercial CD volume?

i've been interested in one for a while, let me kno what you think of it

The Masterlink is pretty new to me so,I haven't delved too far into it yet. Truncating your track is very easy as long as you don't want any great precision. Haven't tried the mastering functions yet but, I know it only has single band compression. Still a nice machine tho'.

My nice simple setup :)

You can see the sub properly here

the rode nt-2a mic

my music greatly revolves around compostion and vst's rather than sampling as sample clearance is too much of a hassle - however for independent projects i do for fun, i like to sample etc

there's a few extra things i would like to get for this setup but nothing particularly necessary etc

Nice! I have the reflexion filter too. The high end studio guys talk shit about it, but it made a huge difference in my vocals as far as ugly room reverb goes. You have a link to any of your music recorded with the Rode/Filter setup?

Yea it is a hard drive, believe me I'd love to put them somewhere else but I've got one huge common problem, NO SPACE!!! LOL it haunts us all. Can't wait till I have my own spot one day I'm gonna make sure my place has lots of space for my needs. But can I ask Hellfire why its such a bad move?

I think Dell is great, except when you call at certain times and you get Dell India and you can't understand WTF the rep is saying. Everytime I used to call, I used to keep my fingers crossed in hopes of just getting a regular white dude to help me out. But most times, calling after work you get a **** Indian with a fuked up accent. So that's why now when I need Dell customer service, I use their online chat. It's MUCH better than the phone service, and they can connect to your computer and fix shit for you. It's great!

Because the speakers have magnets in them and they could potentially damage your HDD.

If it's a mechanical/rotating harddrive, the vibration will kill it. That's the one thing that really fuks up mechanical shit. If it were a flash based harddrive, it would be fine, as far as vibration goes. The only real harm to those are heat, and you wouldn't being risking that on top of the monitor. But if that is a spinning drive, I'd get it of ASAP! Plus, there's the fact that the sub has a huge magnet that can wipe that shyt clean!
