peoples opinions on jj os are all over the place. why ask again? the difference in jjos and akai os is already posted. any problems with jjos has already been discussed. why do you want the answers spoonfed to you? they are right there and you dont have to wait for smart asses like myself to reply and hurt your feelings.

JJOS gives the mpc1k features that are comparable to the mpc4k:
Global program editing
enhanced grid editing
audio track recording
ADSR features
keygroups
an arpegiator
enhanced sample editing features
bit converter (really nice for those who want a lil S950 12bit spice added to our samples)
non destructive chopping
midi time code sync option
automation features with the q link sliders
THese are just a few of the JJOS upgrades you will benefit from. I will say the best feature to me is the ENJOYMENT OF A MORE EFFICIENT WORKFLOW!!!!!!! Hope this helps :D

^^^^^^^^^ Stick with the akai os? Me personaly i could never go back to the akai os. I use and enjoy too many of the enhanced features with JJOS2xl. Its the ONLY reason i kept my 1000. Im not knocking anyone using the "nuakai" os. If it works for you thats fine. :)

For me, going back to the akai os would be like putting my playstation 3 in the closet and breaking out my sega genesis to hook up to the high def tv!!!! No Thanks!!!!!
