Things I wish could be done on a 2000xl

With this post, I'm hoping to get ideas for workflow, and for folks to weigh-in on methods, or other machines MPCs or not that can perform the functions listed. And if I missed the boat and some of these things can be done on a 2000xl please let me know. I definitely dig the machine I have, but it seems there are some obvious and easy programming features Akai could have added.

1) I wish it could re-order Sequences the same way it re-orders Tracks within a Sequence.

I often create Sequence after Sequence with a given set of sounds suspecting I'll be able to link them up but not sure in what order. Once I get the order of the Seqeunces established, it'd be nice to be able to set them up with the first Sequence in the 1st Sequence slot, and so on. I know I can do this by copying and deleting but that is soo not flow-worthy. Any suggestions?

2) In the same way that the Trim screen allows for a quick chop of a sample by Zone, it'd be nice if the MPC could do a quick 'chop' of a Sequence by Bar.

Wouldn't this be useful?

Seems now that I'm posting, the other things I had in mind flew the coop, but when they return I'll continue the list.

Input appreciated, but I know about Song Mode, that's not what I mean, cuz if you then go back to the MainScreen the Sequences are still as they were.

I mean the SAME way you can quickly and easily re-arrange the order of Tracks within a Sequence.

And I'm down with Seq Edit, Bars, too, but that's a far cry from a quick and easy Zone chop.

I think the best advice you got so far was RTFM, just go with that.

Eventually you are going to need to track your MP into a daw to get it onto a cd. Learn how to get the quick beat down on the MP and edit thoroughly in the daw. Before you say I want my MP to do this, make sure you know its limitations.

By the way, your MP can do what you are speaking about.

these things can be done. maybe not at the push of some magic button (which it appears you are looking for). but it can be done. easily.

1) Sample while the sequence is playing . . . . that is all .

you can insert sequences in song mode anywhere you want to. I've never had to totally arrange sequences, I start with the intro and go from there so most of it is already in order.

man look i dont know if this is what your talkin about but once you have your arrangment in song mode, hit convert. itll ask you what sequence trackin u wanna go by and say 1.

you gatta make sure your tracks are all the same for each sequence tho. for example if you have bass on track4 on sequence one you will need the bassline for sequence 2 to be on track4 as well. so on and so forth for every sequence. say you have a string you use on seuqnce1 track3 but you dont use the string on sequence 2; you still have to leave a blank track on sequence 2 track 3.

once you convert it, itll become one sequence and you can then hit the trackmute button and mute out the tracks n all that.

But it looks like some folks don't know how to read.
I'm not looking for a magic button and if you can't see the utility of what I've mentioned I'm baffled.

RTF Post before you make inane comments.

I'm not AT ALL hating on the 2kxl, nor am I unaware that:

-Sequences can be re-orded via copy/paste, or utlizing Song mode, or,
-That one can copy Sequences and then truncate, or copy bars to unused Sequences.

It is precisely because those are features I use that I'm thinking about streamlining them.
