First off go to the JJOS. NOW!!!!!!!!!!

2nd Your Hard Disk is your Hard Drive. Same sh1t (well atleast on the JJOS it is)

3rd Not all 2500's come with a CD drive. Thats optional unless you got the Limited Edition which those come maxed out.

4th There are 1024MB in 1 GB
73685mb is about 71.96 gb
Im guessing your HD is a 80gb

Yeah, it's actually a DVD drive that plays cd's (as most DVD players do). However, it's a ROM drive meaning it only read data DVD's, not DVD movies (as far as I know). Hard disk just means that your hard drive is of the spinning disk type. Drive=disk in this case. So you pretty much have 3 different ways you can save and load sounds, HD, CD/DVD, and CF. These are all "drives".

and also what is the extra ram for if the hard drive is so big??

If it's from Akai, then it's 80GB. But if it's owner installed, it could be any size. I have a 40GB in mine, which is massive! But like Ex said, according to your numbers, sounds like you have an 80.

Yeah, man. You will love it. Chopping on that is so much more efficient than on the XL. However, the XL has somewhat better of a workflow, but that could be becuase I've been on the XL for nearly 10 years and on the 2500 for 3 months.

It depends... If your buying the normal Black 2500 then it doesnt come with a HD. If your buying the 2500LE, I have no idea.

Yup I have the normal MPC2500, which is this guy here.

The Limited Edition is this one

I own the regular 2500 so mine did not come with a HD installed already. I ended up buying a 100gb Toshiba drive for like $30. I over did it on the space but it was alot cheaper than buying a 40gb or any other lower size. Why??? I have no idea.
