Especially program mode after chopping then assigning the samples to pads!!! I've found that you've really got to treat it with some patients after each move (let thing compute) or ca-boom!!!!

I really want to cry! I just chopped the living shit out of a very intricate drum loop 42 separate chops. (I did it my way) regardless on my final assign to pad. After organizing all kicks snares hihats and everything in between.............freeze!!!!

So pre-warning guys move respectfully with your 5000's and save accordingly.

one

:D 2.0 :D

Wow what the fu@ck it happen it again!!!!!!

OK, i found some time to type.

Lets see if this is a bug or I'm just screwing up somewhere?

EXAMPLE:

load a drum loop. Assign to pad A01 program 001  mode/program move cursor to drumloop window switch one shot to note on

mode trim. I was using loop mode to chop. Then window to get intricate. (cause ive got ocd or something . its just has to be efn perfect alright)

move ST: END: points to kick/hihat/snare what ever comes 1st

 (press EDIT/EXTRACT name new sample DO IT

Then EDIT/DELETE to remove whats between your ST: END: points  continue this step for each chop until the whole drumloop has no waves period. and i cant really remember but i might have pressed edit/delete on the blank pattern as well before step $$$)below

Now move ST: END: points again for the next kick/hihat/snare

do this until loops finally all chopped up

(step $$$) Now press mode program and for A01 turn jog counter clockwise to (no sample) and assign your first chop here then continue assigning the rest to the pads in orderly fashion

when done try saving (mode disk)

CAbooom!!!!!!

i also sampled this drumloop from a random rock cd. From the internal cd player

now i didn't name anything before hand. Only at that one step EXTRACT to name the new chops.

I loaded drum loop from CF card which i remove properly into computer when loading OS 2,0

I know i should of threw this in bug thread but didn't want to clutter.I basically didn't know until it happened twice and I'm not sure if this is a bug at all.
hope someone takes a look at this? thatnks

what did you save it as? (program?, All programs and samples, entire memory?)

Where did you save it to? (CF card? HD?) If you saved to CF card, back up your sounds and be sure to format the CF card from the MPC (According to the manual you are supposed to do this before using the CF card in the MPC)

I chopped and saved my samples using all the above methods, and I couldn't reproduce the freeze.

purge unused samples from Ram and try again? Let me know...

PS- When I tried to give program001 a name, I kept getting an error. I wonder why is that?

i3obby lFingers wrote:you know what . I did purge at the end of assigning. I never got to disk mode at all. this is where it froze. got to go to work be back soon. thanks

Tried to recreate this a few times. Without any luck. Can *you* recreate it? If so, please send me the loop. Then I will try it again with that.

alright, i chopped this same drumloop I was working on before. i chopped and saved no problem. I dont know what exactly happen last time cause i was not prepared for it. sorry for the misunderstanding and wasting your time. Its just that i spent hours chopping and it froze . Then froze again. like i said 42 chops very time consuming. This is how i chop so if it happens again i'll be sure to recognize exactly what I've done. Then report
sorry again,
