Refurbing a 60mk2

For the screws:

I don't know, so unless someone knows the exact size you could do this,
Take one of the screws from the MP with you to a specific "Hardware" store. Generally I've found Lowe's and Home Depot aren't specific enough to have small, often metric, hardware.
Something like "Ace Hardware" or "Local Hardware"...you dig.

Anyway take that screw from the MP to the fasteners section of the store. Locate a box that has nuts(duh) and find one that fits the screw from the MP. Cross reference the size of that nut to the correct size of screw you need to buy. Voila! Should cost less than $1.50.

I'm pretty sure you can find black and silver but not chrome ones well @ Ace Hardware. I have gone there like 3x's in the past week and don't remember seeing any that were chrome but they have that style of screw.

can someone post a picture of what the original bolts in the side looked like? maybe measure the length and threads? :)

all of the bolts I have in the side are different..every single one ???

your doing a great restoration so far!!! If I ever found a really really cheap 3k, I would sent it to forat for some customization

From what i can see, you already have the memory expansion, you just dont have the OS upgrade 3.10e and the marion scsi. i actually have another set of the OS chips and the scsi board so pm me if you want to trade for your memory. BTW, why a 60 II? no offense but you seem to be a MKI kind of guy judging from that sexy LE. Also for the screws, most likely they are stripped out of OG specs, you are better of finding a new set of screws with different/bigger specs. GL on the restoration and thats coming from someone whos revived/restored 3 60 II from the dead and a bet up 3000. sold them all and am looking for a MK1 to handle my sequencing needs.

Nice pics. Looked like the previous owner had some real sweaty fingers while using the MPC.

No matter what kind of inverter you put in, you will always hear some kind of hum. But since you have the old style "tin can" inverter, you can tweak it a bit. Try putting some tape around the can to keep it from resonating as much. You can also try reflowing the solder joints that hold the can to the board to see if it stabilizes it.

You really did a nice job!
Makes me thinking of getting a MPC60, too.

I guess there are a lot of more users modding their MPCs,
rather than refurbishing them. Technically updated, but the
same old look. That's the way I prefer it.

Have a good time with that nice peace of equipment.
