external effects

I've read somewhwere in here that with the JJOS2 you can asign a track to one of the mix outs.
would this work? going from one of the outs to some effect tool. (my brothers got this psycho flange thingy, which is actually meant for guittars, but I thought it'd sound the shit on some hi hats or sumtn) and then from the effect into the analog ins and resample?? or would that end up in some feedback noise??

I think so, because there's a "send" field present in the "out" section of the GPE. But I don't have any external hardware FX, so I can't tell for certain...

as long as you dont use the main outputs or headphone outputs to send to the effect it wont feedback. the input thru/monitor is assigned to the master output.

yep, you can use any external gear. guitar pedals are really useful.
that's the way i do my effects and processing. i have the four outs on the 1000 going to external gear - eqs and effects pedals. to resample, it's just a matter of assigning the individual out for a pad and swapping the cable going to the record in. it's very quick and easy.

it's one of the reasons i bought the 1000. it can resample and i don't need a mixer to use external effects.

Most Definitely, It's very easy to run any sound out of Output 1 and into any number of effects (I use a MoogerFooger and I'm waiting on a Carbon Copy analog delay from Ebay) and into the Record inputs. With input Thru on, you can hear it all in real time and it's super simple to Resample when you need to. I used to use the internal effects but after hearing how analog gear saturates my sound I haven't looked back. The internal filters are semi-dope though. Very usable.

another good technique is to create a few different programs, each with different external FX routing settings. then, make multiple copies of your sequence and assign different programs to each copy.

now, you can go into the NEXT SEQ screen and switch your sequence live (set it to IMMEDIATELY PLAY) and you will be changing your external FX routings on the fly. bypass fx, route different pads to different fx, etc ...all realtime dub stylee.

great ideas.. another potential idea is to sample your vsti's into sequence for those of us that use midi triggering. Run the send outs to your daw, record your midi sequence (into the mpc), then route the recorded sound back into the mpc's record inputs... lots of possibilities here. thanks all.

hey boys and girls dont forget that you can do the same with the digi in n out with your favorite plugins! not the send amount but if youre resampling with effects then you can do that with the main outs...
