MPC2K Classic / Broken ZIP drive ?

I own a MPC2k classic for some time now , it came with a external SCSI ZIP Drive
When i try to use the drive i can check 1 or 2 files, place them under a pad and than when i try to load the disc again for some reason the files dissapear from my screen , the ZIP Drive hangs up on me and only after turning it on and off it will get back up on it again. i cant even take the ZIP Disk out before i turn it off , than check 1 or maybe a couple files en it crashes up on me again

I have read lampdog's FAQ about ZIP Drives, it has helped a lot but has not brought a specific solution to my problem
Could it be the ZIP Drive is broken ? does the problem sound familiar to anyone ?
I have tried different disks of different MB sizes but the problem still occurs
I only have 1 drive wich is capable to run with the mpc the other i have is usb
Or could this be a common problem with ZIP drives being unstable and all when being used with a mpc2k classic

If anyone has some information for me , it will be much appreciated

i'm forgot to mention that its a Iomega ZIP Drive 250 , with the 2 switches on the back
i connected it the way it was explained in lampdog' s tutorial
so i'm really guessing its the drive that has broken
i'm trying to get my hands on another 250 drive so i can compare if it happens on another also
when i do , ill keep ya' ll posted

I cannot support that statement...100's are as solid as 250 ZIPs. That will definitely not be his problem.
