recording to an cd on mpc 2000xl..

Is there any way to record tracks from the mpc 2000xl directly to cd?

Yes. You could buy an Audio CD Recorder.
But I guess thats not what you want. Sorry. No other way.

if ur not into multi-tracking, you can download some software like audacity or reaper and record to those programs. what u would do is attempt to handle all your mixing inside the box, record to the programs, add some type of eq/ compression at least and bounce the track.

but honestly if u dont have a midi/audio interface, get one and track your work out... at the end of the day itll be better to the listener

I already record in cool edit pro 2.1... I was told If you record directly to a cd it would be higher quality. Seems a little easier also. If I was to get an audio cd recorder to hook it up I just go stereo out and in to the cd recorder? Thanks for the quick responses guys...

i think the better quality hes referring 2 lies within the recorders functions. most straight to cd recorders are for mastering and such and arent really cheap. i honestly think you'd be placing yourself in a hard postion...

i bought a sony (rcd w500c) 5 disc changer with burner from best buy for 199.oo ran my 2000 straight to it ,its good for burning/copying discs in a hurry the discs end up sounding exactly as they do in the mpc no cleaner!

thanks man.. Only reason I am even considering it is cuz I think I need a sound card or something to record on my new laptop with gay ass vista on it... not sure tho.. I had no problems when I had xp.. Anyone familiar with that problem? I read reviews, and on my computer I dont even have a stereo mix option. Do i just need to cop an external sound box?

i have an hp laptop with vista and a 4-pin firewire port. which audio interface would you recommend for this setup?

i got vista too but use only for internet ,personally i would never use my pc for audio

My dad let hold his sony cd recorder but it records in analog with my cables and not digital! I got a garage band manual for my mac book I can record directly into my sound port into garage band share to I tunes then burn to cd!
