im on day 4 with my mpc once i drag a sample over is there anyway for it to play only when im holding the pad? i have an mpc500 and just need some guidance. Like if i hit the button twice it plays the full sound out twice example. My grill my my my grill. instead of hitting it multiple times going mymymymymymy grill my my my grill... anyone know what i mean?

press mode, then press pad 6 (program) flick till you find voice overlap, turn that from poly to mono.

Wait I just reread it, dont think I gave you what you asked for, try it tho.

For what you want you need it to.... fuk I dont remember from head... sorry.. try the manual it is in there.

well i mean like how do i set the button to not play all the way thru when i hit it... or play until i let go of the button?

Ok go to program mode -> play mode set it from one shot to note on

'Note on', not 'play once'. The poly / mono is for if you want overlap between pads.

ok well have you guys broken in your mpc buttons yet? or are they always this stiff?
and does anyone use a midi controller with theirs?

Midi controller with the mpc is good if u want to play soundmondules or whatever on your mpc.
I think most ppl have midikeyboard connected to their MPC.

ya i went out and bought an axiom 49 key... im also running logic... what do you guys think would be the best way to set that up? and can i use the mpc 500 as a midi controller? I have each of them plugged in to my imac in seperate usb ports
