Trying to drop files from my MPC 1000 to Acid 4.0

Hi, I was wondering what the best method to record from my MPC into Acid 4.0

"Best"? Depends on what you're trying to do, your working methods etc.

E.G. If you're sampling on the MPC, but you want to assemble the track in Acid, then you can transfer WAV files direct from the MPC's flash card to Acid. (No soundcard stage to degrade the sound. )

Or you can sync Acid to the MPC or vice versa - then you don't need to transfer anything if you don't want to, use each tool for what it's best at...

If I were to drop the files from my flashcard, into Acid would I have to arrange the WAV. files myself?I'd like to drop each track seperately in the grid on Acid

Well.. between Acid and the MPC, WAVs are compatible, MIDI files are compatible... can you build up a multi-sample "Program" in Acid, so the MIDI file can trigger the right samples at the right time? I don't use Acid, so I can't help you with exactly how to arrange your samples there...

Acid was really designed for loops with support for Midi and Vsti plug-ins. You can only load one wav file per track, be it a single hit or a loop. You could load a Vsti sampler into a track and load your wav files into it and trigger by Midi but this seems to me like reinventing the wheel with the MPC1000 being the wheel. It would seem to me that the best way to use these together would be to do all your sequencing on the MPC and using the resample to create loops then save them to your CF card and transfer to your PC. Then you could pull the loops into Acid and build your song, add effects etc.
