possiblities to save sounds without SCSI

Hey there,
I feel very limited in working with more sounds than one drumkit. Often one Drumkit (only 16 pads + 2 hihats) are to big for one Floppy and compressing all sounds makes them unable to pitch well.

Is the Marion Systems SCSI upgrade the only way to load/save more? Or did I forget anything?

the problem is, that when I made cool samples and worked with them I would have to save them in parts on 3 or 4 floppies which is not only confusing but also shitty to load again.

Do you guys got any hints for me? and what are the possibilities Ive got with the marion systems SCSI thing?

It's either floppies or a drive connected via the Marion SCSI board.
How ever, the MArion SCSI board stopped being manufactured on the 1st of March 2009.

Ah, then it's true. I noticed that it dissapered from roger linn's site.

So now it's opens season for all the electronic wizards to make a scsi hack ?? Just like the memory hack. Solder this bit to that bit and 20$ later you got SCSI..can't wait

On the other hand, i've never really needed SCSI for my 60. I use it as a drum machine and sequencer, i don't sample loops with it. I don't know how long tail your drums sounds have but my kits usually take around 600k. And i always get more inspired by flipping through a bunch of floppys instead of scrolling through folders.

okay. did you buy your samples put them on the floppy via mpceditor or what? if you have some free ones please pn me and send it to my email - this would be very nice... my problem is that i dont find good samples of a normal drumkit

Just sample the drums with the audio input. From downloaded samples, sample-cds, vinyl ...whatever

For me, a big part of the 60s sound is the one you get when you sample through the machines own A/D converters, everything just seem to sound a little bit .....better

I've been in touch with Roger Linn about the SCSI boards.
He will keep a list of people interested in the SCSI board and if enough people are interested another batch of boards willl be made.

How much does it cost? and how can I write me in the list?
