and you act like your doing something so creative and everybody else just takes loops and puts them over other loops.
you don't know what your doing really. you're just wasting time. make a beat sometime.
you're bragging about taking 300 samples out of one record. big whoop. i could take 1000 out of a single record but it wouldnt matter because its pointless.
I have to agree with Four Eyes on this one. You're being lazy and at the same time, too much of a techno-geek. Sure, alot of sampled hip hop is a loop with a funk drum beat over the top, but then again, alot of the dopest tunes EVER were done this way. Think "Resurrection" by Common, "Watch Out Now" by The Beatnuts, "Full Clip" by Gangstarr, "Represent" by Nas.
You shouldn't be using software as a substitute for listening to a record properly, for the dopest sounds. It's great you're using software to chop up your samples into hundreds of pieces, but I think that's just a little OTT. And taking 100 samples from a single record just isn't neccessary.
Personally, you're being narrow-minded thinking that what most guys do here is old hat. Sorry, but if you listen to hip hop and understand how it's done, you'll quickly discover that your method is pointless. In the end, what have you got? A load of sounds that probably mean nothing. All you seem to be doing is compiling a library of random sounds that you won't know what to do with.
What type of music is it that you're making anyway?
