First off I wanna say p.e.a.c.e. to everyone on this forum and thanks for all the good advice and all that, and I hope this is a good spot to post this....

Ok, I have been making beats a little while now, about 2 1/2 years and one thing that bothers me about the whole thing is having a "name" or "moniker". I have had about 3 different monikers since I've started but it seems as I progress and my style improves or changes, I feel I need a different name to accompany that style. I really haven't really come up with a name that I don't get tired of you know or that sticks and expresses the type of beats I make? I don't know if many of you feel like this, but I feel if I wanna go by something else, everyone who knows I make beats will still know me as my first moniker, ya know? Have any of you had this problem in coming up with a name, or your tired the the name you have now? And I know how important it is to have a name, but I feel like I haven't found one that I am happy with, you know? Any feedback would be appreciated. P.E.A.C.E.

lol I know exactly what u mean. I had that many names over the years. Some that fitted more for the comedy thing I was doing, some that fitted to the bad shit I was doing, some that fitted to the normal shit, some for the philosophical and so on. But I always like missed the other aspects when I focussed on one. Nowadays I just call myself Kocha, which is my last name. But then I was surfing through the urban dictionnary and looked up "kocha" and I didn't like it. And if I look up the German writing of my name, "Kocher", it's even worse! So I guess I need a new name now. I'll call me Max Power!

Oh and take a look at Wu-Tang, all the members have like 1'000'000 names. Don't get cut down by one shit. Call yourself different in each track :D

ive had many name changes... but im almost at the point where i think an alias is a little bit corny. like i dont like to say 'yo wats good, im Sinamatik'... know what i mean? i may just end up using my real name in the future. its not catchy or anything but at least it will last lol

Im creative , so im always coming with some crazy shit ... Phaim went to almost PhaimUs which turned into NobodyPhaimUs. I also rock with " SrBajaPanty " or " GarciaVega" ... lol .... but i think business wise its good to trademark one name , so it becomes household. Let the fans apply the nick names.

ive gone through a bunch of names that other people gave me but i didnt care for much of them so i went on a name spree for myself

kinda goes like this,,i rap more than i make beats and most of my raps are like letters(like letters to people)..at the end of a letter, you usually see "sincerly yours"

now i was going to go by sincere or sincerely or even sincerely yours

heres where the originality comes in...i was then going to go with
sonseelye yours
but choose sonseelye

because my name is

jaSonSeelye..beat that with a wiffle ball bat hahaha

I was forced to accept the name dirtybird by my peers...so I have never changed mine. I find that a lot of peoples artist names are generally just their nicknames

I used to make music under the name Sky Cycle which kinda stuck for a while, until I realised there was a ropey band in the States with the same name! I then changed it to Canedrive which harks back to me being a teenager when we used to cruise around in our first cars listening to tunes...

I just find it really hard to name tracks. I don't know if anyone else has the same problem? :?

^^i think about what i would write over it,then go from there,,,or if the chorus is catchy,i'll just freestyle in my head till i come up with a name,,,or if i add a vocal chorus,i'll name it something thats in the vocals..

My stagename is just one of my nicknames: Kimco. My last name used to be Kim, my frontname is menco. Someone creative inspired by the Japanese scooter manufacturer Kymco started to call me Kimco. Because it hasn't a real meaning (so I don't have to change my name when I switch my style up), plus it's easy to remember. Also because a lot of people used to ride Kymco scooters.

I always get a kick out of ppl who introduce themselves with some stage name....

"Yo yo what up they call me Big Big-Money, cuz i'm bout that big money, ya know cuz?"

And inevitably 2 seconds later some 250lb coke bottle glasses wearing broad is like Bartholomew, where have you been? I haven't seen you all week?

lolz

generally speaking if ppl don't call you by that name, its a joke
