Does anyone else feel as if the mpc 2500 has the worst jog wheel of every mpc made? I f they fused the 2000xl wheel with the 2500 it would be perfect.
I knew when i first touched it that i was not going to like better, but all of the other features on this baby got me. I mean at the time it was mpc with the most features and i was just getting into midi and really wanted 4 midi outs and the design was perfect for me. Has anyone tried to switch out there wheel with another or does anyone know of anybody that could manufacture this? I have a couple close music mates that would also buy. I am no type of electronic engineer so i could not even think of where to begin.

The 1000 and the 2500 do not have the same wheel.

I came from a MPC500 and I would have to say that the wheel on the MPC500 is the worst which is the same as the MPC1000 wheel. You have to click it around 2 and sometimes in the begining about 3 clicks before it gets going.

I think the wheel on the 2500 is perfectly fine. I find the design on it alot better than the others aswell.

im going to have to agree here,,the worst wheel is on the 2500,,it feels like rusty metal rubbing together,,and i think my fav wheel is on the 2000xl,,,i been doing some research on this and im going to figure out a way to get a better potentiometer in its place..anyone have a clue where i could get the service manual for the 2500??

My 2500 is the first mpc i ever had, but i have to agree, the wheel is kind of meh. I also sometimes need to turn it 2 or 3 clicks to actually change values or scroll through samples... especially in Load Mode.

Also true. those clicks are LOUD. I still haven't heard any complaints from my roommate, but I'm sure it's only a matter of time before he can't stand it anymore.

the 2000 Classic with it's outer-rim 2 part data wheel weighed in Heavy for great workflow. of ALL the physical changes mpc's have gone through, this is the one i miss the most and every single time i work on my 2500.

Thanks Im glad I am not the only one feeling that way and I only had my 1000 the blue one for two weeks before I got my princess. So that is why I thought the wheels were the same but I just wish they would have put the 2000 or 2000xl wheel on it. If anybody has any luck let me know I will pay double.

soon after i got my 2500 i asked VST Service if a 2000 wheel mod was available for the 2500 and they said they didn't do it which was quite discouraging. if this ever becomes an option i'll be on it in a snap.
