is this the MPC 60 ii inverter?

Yup that silver box is the inverter, that one looks pretty beat up. Not sure about the connections since I havn't opened mine in awhile.

Mine was painstaking, I changed everything and it wasn't until I changed a capacitor on that inverter board until I finally got real light to my screen. I don't see any capacitors on yours though. Cool thing with it is, you can unscrew that inverter board then mess with it without Fing with the rest of the 60. The screen will still work even without that board installed. Was good for me cause I never soldered before i messed with mine.

That's one of the older style inverters. If you take off the metal can you cansee the circuit inside and replace components if it ever goes bad. Akai later went to use an encapsulated inverter which is impossible to repair the circuit inside so you have to buy a replacement.
