I'm in the midst of producing one. What are you interested in as far as what you would like covered in the video. I would appreciate your input.
I'm going to cover basics; Mpc 4000 connections to mixing board. Turntable connection, SCSI, USB connections (zip drive, cd-rom drive, PC and Mac) briefly demonstrate each device after connections made. Proper scsi and usb cables to be used.
Sampling:
Loading samples via cd-rom,
Loading Mpc 2kxl samples, pgm files
Assigning samples to pads (pad assignment)
Editing samples (truncate, pitch, efx etc...)
Save samples, create programs from loaded/edited sounds (via internal hd, zip, cdrw)
Sequencing (basics):
Creating a sequence
TC (timing correct) 1/16, 1/16 (3) 1/32 etc...) The effect that they have
Swing settings; How they affect the sequences
How I approach creating beats (tips on dre style beats, old school etc...)
Assigning programs to parts
Midi connections (basic) (using Korg triton as sound module and keyboard controller for all devices, Xtreme lead turbo and carnaval sound modules.
How to set the units up for sequencing on the mpc 4000.
I am in no way endorsing any of the aforementioned units; I simply own them and am producing the video from my experience using them in my home studio.
The last part of the video will cover installation of parts:
HD or Zip Drive
Cd-rom drive
Memory
Ib4adt (2 in 8 out) adat litepipe output option (that's the one I own)
Again your input would be appreciated and I am striving to make the video as informative as possible.
I am not familiar with sysex nor do I use step recording; I am however trying to familiarize myself with both for inclusion into this video.
Peace
