I go between my project studio and a friends. I have the KRK 's and the other has the Tapco's. The KRK's are closer to to what you get in terms of the frequencies from high to low.
I'm sure the answers you'll get are very subjective and dependent on the rooms you hear them in to some degree. For example my room is pretty standard in shape and he lives in a loft with very high ceilings.
The Tapco's sound much better to me when working on beats. but they are bass heavy, which probably explains why so many guys like them. However, we've taken some pumping beats done on Tapco and they sound very weak on the KRK. Maybe there is an explanation for this. I don't know. However, that's what I've found out and that's what I'm sharing.
