So that's 2 of us for the SCSI interface (although I would buy 3 IB-109s - subject to price as I have accumulated 3 S950s). Anyone else want to join the bandwagon?

Another thing I recently read was that Marrion Systems are no longer producing the MPC SCSI interface (although, as stated on Roger Linn's website, if there is sufficient demand, they may produce a batch). I understand that the IB-109 originally fit both the S950 and the MPC60. However, the MS SCSI for the MPC60 did not work with the S950. I wonder what modifications would be required to make the MS SCSI work in the S950 - I would hope not much? I might enquire with MS to see what they have to say about this in the hope that if we cannot pool enough support for the S950 SCSI from MUTEC, and MS can mod their SCSI to work with the S950, we can pool the S950 SCSI buyers with those wanting SCSI for the MPC60... or is this simply wishful thinking?

Sounds interesting. But I never saw the MPC60 SCSI board or the 950 one on a table. Maybe some 60 and 950 User with SCSI could post some HQ Pics of the boards that clear up thing a little bit.

It should also be possible to built this board. to make things easier I guess many 950 User would renounce the digital In so the freaky nerd who will do it can focus on the SCSI thing.

WOW. Many thanks. Great pics. I didnt thought that the board is that easy:) The chips seem to be available easy.
But I cant read the condenser and the diode. And we also need the back of the PCB to see ho the parts are connected.

Any of the s950 SCSI User want to help with photos of the 950 SCSI board ?

Part lists or service manuals would also be great.

Thanks again Delta !!

Regarding the IB-109 fitting both the S950 and the MPC60 check out this synrise.de link (although it refers to the MPC60 II - so my apologies, I should have been more precise): http://translate.google.co.uk/translate ... start%3D10

In fairness, Synrise seems to be the only site that suggests that the IB-109 fit both the S950 and MPC60II... I will keep investigating this and revert!

BTW - DukeNewport and Deta!l, thanks for the pictures - I am going to pass these onto the tech who is currently fixing my SP1200 and see what his opinion is about replicating the board.

UPDATE: In order to use the IB-109, the AKAI required an OS upgrade (OS v1.2A) which meant having to replace EPROMS in the machine - looks like getting a SCSI board to work with the S950 is going to take a lot of work... but since I started this, I am going to see how far I can get before I hit a brickwall (although sh!t is already crumbling around me)!

UPDATE 2: Roger Linn and Tom Oberheim have both now confirmed that the IB-109 SCSI cannot and did not work with the MPC60/MPC60 II - the information at Synrise is incorrect. Tom also stated that it would not be possible to mod his SCSI interface for the S950. Sorry for getting everyones hopes up! I suppose the only route now is to replicate the actual IB-109 interface - just need to get my hands on the board!

That would be kind of cool but only if you also clone the OS Eprom ;)
