Hi there,
i put a conga loop into pad 01 but when i try to manipulate its tune pitch with the Q sliders it won´t work.I downloaded a tabla percussion kit which i assigned to the pads and it seem to work.Does this mean that the Qslider function only on kits and not loops?
thanx

The MPC see's all sound files the same.. not loops or hits.. just make sure you've correctly assigned the Q-link to pad 01 (or wherever you have put the loop) and it should work fine... you probably made a simple mistake.. also remember that the Q-link will not change the pitch during the sample's play.. there is no pitch bend on the 1k.. it will only play from start to end at the pitch you selected...

hope this helps

Thanx TP!
so you mean it wont work while the sample loop is running but only on static samples which are assigned to the pads and not running? what do you mean by there is no pitch bend on the 1k?
thanx :?:

Pitch doesn't change AS the sample is playing. So say you have a 3 second loop for a sample. You couldn't hit the pad, then change the pitch 2 seconds into the loop. The pitch will change the next time the sample is retriggered. Experiment with this using longer samples, and you'll see what we mean. In your case using conga sounds, you couldn't emulate someone pushing their elbow into the skin to pitch bend.

So there is pitch change, just not what everone else calls "real-time" I call it "akai-time". This is also true for filter settings (and anything else you control with the q-link)
