UPDATE:

What’s up ya’ll? It’s the Kangz.

This is the first edition of Beat Kangz Bulletinz, and we are absolutely pumped to be sending you this. Look for these notes from us periodically in our effort to keep you informed about what's going down with the Kangz and our products.

Winter NAMM 2009

NAMM was an absolute success and we would like to thank Pintech, USA and Soul in the machine for hosting us.

Mad respect to Warren G, Will Calhoun, Isaiah Fogle, Michael Braum and all the others who came out, hung and jammed with us. Thanks to everyone for helping to make this show a success for us. Special thanks also to all the press outlets who covered our booth and wrote reviews. We definitely appreciate the LOVE!

Now, we know you all crave new info so, let’s get down to business…

NEW THANGS

We just finished a deal with Apple Computers to develop applications for the iPod, iPhone, and iPod Touch platforms. Our first application is currently moving into the Beta phase and should be available for download from the iStore in Spring 2009.

The Playa Thang App turns your iPhone or iPod Touch into a portable beat playa. You get 12 production ready hip hop beats on 8 tracks with the ability to manipulate the beats and develop your own remixes.

Features: Mute & Solo 8 tracks of high quality beats; 16-bit, 44.1k stereo sound files (cd quality); intuitive, easy to use interface.

Of course the Kangz had to drop some dope ish on this Playa Thang. But we also have got our man Commissioner Gordon (Kanye West, Jay-Z, The Roots, 50-Cent, Lauryn Hill, KRS-ONE) on board for all the mix engineering on the project. Stay tuned on that one …the tracks are KRAK!

BEAT THANG RELEASE DATE

Originally, we had planned to get the Beat Thang in stores by May. However, we got great feedback at NAMM, and we've decided to listen to many of your suggestions. As a result, instead of the plastic casing that we used on the prototype, we have decided to go with an all metal housing for enhanced durability and build quality. Also, we are replacing the small monochrome LCD with a full color 3.5 inch video grade deal.

Demand for the Beat Thang seems to be much higher than we initially anticipated too. So, we are tooling up for a larger initial run than we had originally discussed. These changes will take some time (but not too much). However, as a result, The Beat Thang's release is now planned for summer 2009. More specific dates will follow, and we promise it will be worth the wait!

ignore the lame design aesthetic and name and the machine actually looks mad fun. and price is pretty ridiculous in comparison to other sampling drum machines.

i would cop one if you could make a custom one with no logo or paint job..
