Yeah, I already looked into this and all the SCSI to IDE Adapters are pretty expensive. Even if I source in bulk quantities from China, you could still buy an external SCSI CF Card reader for around $150, and I really wouldn't be able to beat it, or at least not by enough to make it worth all the time and R&D

sorry

I'd be willing to try it with your adapter, my guy has a 2K, but all I would be able to do is confirm that it works or not, and still offer my reader for the mod. You'd be on your own for the adapter.

I just emailed you, so we can continue our conversation that way, but I wanted to quickly note the importance and significance of having an internal drive. Lugging around another piece of gear and its power supply is a major turn off for some folks, myself included. Plus I have been able to put together my collection of all the parts included for less than $100 including all cables and a CF card. I think you could easily sell an "internal" MPC classic CF reader for $200, most external readers are actually about $180 right now.

I just modified the bracket so it's even better now!

I'll post a pic in a few minutes.

Just have to go wire money to the manufacturer today, then probably a week.

Got the power cable adapters in.

Well, I still have 3 with the origional faceplate design,
but I just got the final evaluation sample on the modded bracket, which now has a lip around the front.

I did this because it was possible that the front stuck out a little on the left side, and left a gap.

Now, even if it sticks out, it will be like the origional drives, with a finished edge.

Shoot me your email and I'll paypal you an invoice.

You can either wait for the new brackets or I can send you one of the old design.

It looks much better in person. The pic doesn't really do it justice.

If anyone wants one, email me and give me your complete mailing address so I can call my shipper and get a quote.

Then I can Paypal you an invoice. They will be on Ebay again as well once the first 100 brackets get here.

Gonna cost more on Ebay because of Ebay fees. Or I can Paypal an invoice directly, and you can pay securely by card or your Paypal account

To be clear, you don't need a Paypal account to pay using Paypal.

I've sold 3 on Ebay, and 4 or 5 locally.

You can check the Ebay feedback by searching me, user name: Emcee.Ent

Price is gonna be a bit more now, due to shipping, and costs. I didn't really make squat on the last ones due to ebay fees, costs, and shipping.

This is a simple to install, everything you need kit. No hassle. Beats the crap outta MPCStuff's $125, and they do the same thing.

where? didn't see it.... ???

shortyemcee AT gmail DOT com

Shoot me an email so I can look

Also, keep in mind when contacting me to tell me where you saw me, and what your username was there.

Gets confusing when I see peoples stuff like (ie) MPCDude (Forum), [email protected] (Email), and FunkyFresh (Paypal) all the same guy.

gets really really confusing.

Yeah, I haven't seen that. Where'd you send it?

shortyemcee AT gmail DOT com

I'll check my spam folder but I'm pretty sure I don't have it.

Email me at the email above, include your full mailing address so I can get an accurate shipping quote, and I can let you know what it is, and then invoice you when the brackets come in.

I have to mail them a check cause they're not setup for cards! CRAZY! How can you run a business like that!?

So anyway, 3-4 days for them to get the check, then probably 7 days for an out of state check to clear, then 3-4 days for them to ship to me.

pain in the arsssss

It will not hot swap.

It MIGHT work. There is a lot of specific stuff going on on that circuit board which will probably cause it not to work in the MPC.

Worth a shot I guess, but it might be a waste. If you can find that Addonics one for $30-35 you could be in good shape, but you'll have to mod the bracket and drill screw holes in it, and the front of the bracket wont sit well in the front panel of the MPC, that's why I redesigned my bracket, for a better fit and finish.

If you can try that one and return it if it doesn't work, go for it.

Also, if you try it and it doesn't work, and you can't return it, and you run Pro Tools or Sonar, and you think you can use it in your computer, think again. I was in those shoes before, Pro Tools and Sonar will choke. :)

UNFORTUNATELY I just had a situation with a shipment to Canada that was subject to international import fees imposed by Canada.

International shipping may be subject to Taxes, Fees, and Brokerage fees imposed by customs in your country.

I cannot be responsible for these fees as I have no way of finding out what they are, if there will be any, and how much.

I strongly recommend that any international buyers research any potential customs fees prior to purchase.
