my mpc 1000 wont let me chop up a beat

i record and go to trim and theres only trim loop and edit..... my whole recorded wave length is high lighted.... can any one help me out?? idk wtf??!!!

I think u should upgrade the os at akaipro.com

Or even better, check out the JJ os. Get the free version. Very similiar to the akai os, with better chop and program functions.

I had the same problem when I got mine from GC. I went thru some youtube tutorials and noticed I didn't have the SLICE or CHOP option. It can easily be fixed by downloading the free JJOS from here: http://www7a.biglobe.ne.jp/~mpc1000/

The install instructions are listed on the site as well. Hope it all works out for you.

k i downloaded that jj os and saved it to my computer... it wont let me open it b/c is a bin i think a window pops up and askes me what type of program do u wanna open with it??? do i just save the whole file to my mpc???

Connect ur mpc to ur comp thru usb.
The cf card will pop up in ur screen as an external storage device.
Put in there, disconnect the mpc and restart following the instructions given on the jj os site.

Maybe I'm sleepy, but which one of those JJOS for the 1000 should I download? Thanks for help in advance.
