Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

So, I know this has been gone over a few too many times, but I cannot for the life of me use Reason as a sound module with the MPC2000xl without problems. Ive seen all the videos and read all the posts and cant figure out what im doing wrong. I can trigger the different instruments with the mpc but as soon as i go to set the propper channesl in reason with the Advanced midi control I get like a double signal of that channel and then sometimes I am triggering different channels at the same time but it only shows one of the channels being triggerd on the lights under midi control. I have the MPC set to the right channels the mode for the channel is set to soft thru. I have followed all steps, that I can tell. over and over and over again. I know im going to kick myself when i finally figure this out. Sorry to sound like a noob but can someone please help me.

go to edit - perferences - control surfaces and keyboards and make sure that you have no midi controllers listed there, then, go to
edit -perferences - advanced midi and use the bus A for your midi interface.

then after adding new instrument to the rack go to hardware interface rack and choose a channel for the device eg. you added nn-xt and you want it on channel one - click on BUS A button, choose channel one and pick your instrument from the list.
now on your MPC choose an empty track , highlight the field that says Drum: and change it to midi go to the right, (field OFF) and choose channel A1 or B1 depending on which ouput you chose on the back of the MPC

should work now.

if you want to sync the reason with mpc check the edit -perferences - advanced midi tab and choose desired one, and on the MPC - SHIFT+ 9 has to be set up

hope that helps
