mpc-500 & Tenori-on

Have anybody here tried the Yamaha Tenori-on as a sequencer for the 0.5k?

i saw some demo's of dudes using that thing, it sure is interesting, but i don't know if i could ever handle it. We are in the age of the touch screen, and personally i hate it. Anyways, i dunno much about it either, but isn't the mpc a sequencer? what would you use the tenori for exactly?

I would use it as a stepsequencer for the mpc. You can (if i'm right) have 16 pads assigned via MIDI to the vertical buttons and then 16 steps i the horisontal buttons. It would be great for live use!

oh word, like i said i dunno much about it, but if you do get one, and figure it out, post some vids!

if you want a 16 step seq just buy an old korg er-1, you get 10 pads you can assign to output midi notes all with a nice blinky 16 step track each

plus as a bonus it makes sounds too

Well the tenori also makes sounds (and has a built in sampler) but... for the price I'm not sure you get that much out of it if you've got an MPC already.
