Well, being I run an actual business, screwing with customs is NOT something I am interested in.

I've pulled some stuff in the past, and got sued for $4400. So I really don't mess around anymore.

All by the books, sorry guys.

There's gotta be some kind of way around it tho right? LEGALLY?

This IS unfortunate, and had we known, or had you been aware of your customs policy, we'da tried something different.

USPS is like $10 shipping international, but no tracking or insurance and it takes 3 to 4 weeks

otherwise express USPS is like $40, and I'm not sure but you probably still have the customs fees

I ordered the 8 outs from a cat in NY and recieved it in 1 week via USPS. Direct to my door, no additional fees of charges. For future sales to Canada, best practice would be to use USPS. Im not knocking the product at all, but once again

Well, USPS it is, but the shipping cost is rediculous if you want tracking and anything faster than 2 to 3 weeks.

For example, I sent one to Finland, and USPS standard was $9.80 or something and was 2 to 3 weeks without tracking or insurance..... USPS Priority had tracking and guaranteed within a week, but was something like $45.

So, I'll leave it up to the buyers to decide, but I have no problem shipping USPS either way, but buyer is responsible for international shipping.

Another choice from Addonics. In Europe, it's about 24 Euros.

Just installed your card reader and I get an error message saying disk write error w/a 64 mb sandisk cf card......Any answers?

Tried jumper settings, original settings were correct. Trying to use the power cord for the og mpc floppy drive, the one you included has a 4 pin molex male connector-"same connector as on floppy", which wont connect to anything on the main board......Is this my issue??

Also the ide/atapi cable was too short.....luckily I had another on hand (this is my second attempt at the cf drive install)

I mentioned that the IDE's I was sending out may be too short. I was able to use one in mine, but some are just a wee bit short, and until I get new ones, they are not 'included'.

First. RE-INSTALL THE OS 1.20!!!! I can't tell you how many times it's a bad install.

MANY MANY people have fixed the problem with re-downloading and re-installing. It's either a bad install, or corrupted download.

Second. Flip the IDE Cable around. Some IDE Cables are directional. So if it's on the wrong way it won't work right. Also, some IDE cables have SH*TTY connectors and will sit loose in the IDE headers on the card reader and on the MPC. MAKE SURE THEY ARE FIRMLY CONNECTED AND SNUG, IF THEY WIGGLE, GET A DIFFERENT CABLE!!!!!!!!!

Third. The power cable ADAPTER is supplied in case your MPC had a 4 Pin HDD Molex, the large one, in which case you just plug in my adapter and you won't need modification. I provide it as a courtesy. If you don't need it because you already had the small 4 Pin FDD Molex, then discard it or give it to a friend, or hang it from your ceiling...... whatever you want.

No need to change the jumper. Changing the jumper will set the unit to slave and will not work properly.

Double Triple check everything, flip your cable, re-download, re-install, and if it still does it then it's the CF Card you are using.

Keep me posted. I need to put all this in the FAQ or something, cause almost everyone has one of these issues that resolves it. I used to think it was always the CF Card, but not so much I'm seeing.... All these things are about equal culprits, so try all the other stuff before buying a different CF Card. If you can borrow some different ones to try first it might be a quick check.....

Although..... disk write error probably is the card. but try everything mentioned, it will only take a few minutes

At first when I got into the load screen, the card was named ROLAND (It was previously used in my sp404.) Now the name field is blank in the load screen, and I cant save to or format the card. I loaded the 1.2 OS (Again), made sure the IDE cable was secured and properly inserted, and tried again with no luck. I guess its time to find a new cf card, but Im going to try and format this one on a pc first! Any other suggestions?

Did you reverse the IDE cable? Some are directional and it will cause havoc.

Also, you can try to format it with the PC, but then let the MPC format it.

It will still work in your PC after that, but will be optomized for the MPC.

Also, did you download the OS again or use the same install?

I've had 5 bad OS installs in the past 2 weeks including yours, 2 of them fine with reinstall of origional download, two required redownloading..... yours pending.... I think the downloads can get corrupted. Also, if it's Zip'd obviously make sure you unzip it, then throw the file itself on the disk.

^^^If the IDE cable is reversed, the all the LED's light up and the OS never loads. The cable had to be the right way. Im going to have to try redowning the os, unzipping, and reinstalling. Its my last resort before buying a new cf card. Ill keep you updated.

LED's on the MPC or on the Card Reader?

If on the MPC that's the first I've heard of that, but could still be right and related to the OS, but being it saw the card and had access probs, you're probably correct with the first direction.

Start with the redownload and reinstall of the OS, then try cable both ways. If it's a no go then, it's your CF Card.

I think I'll take my OS file, reinstall it on mine to verify it's good, put it in a Zip folder, and email it to purchasers just to ensure a good OS off the bat.

Seen the OS be the culprit too many times.

One dude had to reinstall the old 1.14 OS then reinstall the 1.20 OS and then it was fine.

I think the MPC can be finiky on the OS install........
