You don't seem to understand that, depending on the type of circuit used to give a balanced output, the type of wiring best used differs.

there is a link to the service manual somewhere in another thread, which shows every component - would that provide the answer?

I would have to do a little of memory refreshing on cross-coupled outputs but yes I believe I could work it out from the circuit diagram. Any idea the link/thread for the service manual? I will have a bit of a search myself...

EDIT: Found it. Many thanks!

Obviously I don't know what he is talking about but your talking like you know so enlighten us then?

Well, at least I know that balanced/unbalanced output does not have anything to do with Stereo/Mono. Not even if you plug a "Stereo" jack into it - there is no such thing as a Stereo jack, there are TRS and TS jacks.

And the poster obviously wants to know which exact type of balancing the 2500 outs have, cause it makes a difference, although I doubt that will have any audible effect.

If you are even vaguely interested this is probably the clearest description of the differences I have found.

You can ignore everything above the Appendix.

This is also good.

Simple answer - don't bother this.
Akai has ballanced outs, which is good in live situations when your cables are over 50 meters long.
In studio/home/lab, there's no sonic differences, your signal is mostly somewhere in your audio system unballanced ( amplifier)
I use ballance - only for recording, and all outs are going into patchbay anyway, where signals get mixed ball/unball, and it works flawlessly

god bless
