experienced users please help

Okay i have two questions and I have read through the manual trying to figure it out
(I looked around page 67-69, but couldn't quite get it) I have a sample i would like to sustain but when i try and loop it I get the length and sound I want, but there is a a gap between the sample loop sort of like this:


I-----------I.........I-----------I

but when I try to shorten it to see if it fixes the gap between the looped sample the sample just gets too short and sounds like an 8-bit sound.Can someone help me figure this out?
I change the start and end points and the decay is there something else i should try?


and also i am runnig OS 1.11
should i upgrade?



what would i gain? or lose?

First of all, upgrade that damn software.

How many samples does the loop contain (in trimmode)?

but the sample in trim mode is a single sample
like a single bass sound or guitar sound that i would like to be able loop that single sound or somehow make it sustain and then map it out over the pads so it is like a bass pack

No, Eimer meant how many sample words (or whatever it is called in theory) does your sample contain? Usually this number is displayed in trim mode.

yeah, a sample is the smallest step in a waveform.

A sample that has a trim start point of 200 and an endpoint of 2200 is 2000 samples...

A sample is one dimensional. It describes the values of a specific "time" in the wave.
You have 44100 samples in one second.
