What's up guys. Just picked up a MPC 1000 about a week ago. Picked it up through hiphoptools.com so I got the memory upgrade, sample libraries, and the tutorials for both the std Akai OS operating system, and the JJ OS 3.08.
I've been digging through info before I even purchased the MPC, so I know alot of the basic functionality. Problem is that I am about ready to go through the entire tutorial, and I'm not sure if I should start with the standard Akai OS or the JJOS 3.08. Does anyone recommend using one over the other.
Also, I am just starting out so all I really have is a MacBook, Technics SL-1200MK2, and the MPC1k. Right now, I'm just sampling and throwing beats over the top, but I know I'll need to record and so forth. Is garage band on the Mac good enough to get going.
