first beat worth mentioning...

hey i just got my 1000 about 3 weeks ago, i was on it like madd, but ive been working alot lately and been tired and slacking.

well ive been working on this, i have 3 more sequecnecs to add, plus the hook and the intro/outro, basicly this is only up so you get an understanding of the piece.

id love it if you all could give me a hand and just critisice me to f*ck, so i know what to work on.

also that verse, is recorded in badd quality, i know there are madd studio heads up in here, but i urge you check it out anyways, the verse in my opinion is better then the beat (complet beat including other sequences)

what do people mean when they say they dont like the drums? is it the actual sound of them, or the pattern? cause damn i dont give a f*uck what they sound like as long as they sound realistic.

also what are synths?

i think what people might be taking issue with, is your choice of kits. you've used a very realistic or "organic" sounding kit for your beat. while this is fine as far as i'm concerned, a lot of folks really prefer to hear that deep, tight "OOM" bass for rap, and a snappy, short snare or even a clap, keeping things decidedly "electronic-sounding".

i think the kit you used is probably better suited for a rock song. and when the previous poster mentioned a "synth", he is referring to the small repetitive organ-sounding thing. or maybe your bass sound.

Yep, Thats exactly what i mean. I feel the same way. Its a good first beat man Just Work on it and it will all fall into place. Good luck.

Also get a pop screen for the mic, they're cheep. you can even make one your self, by using a coat hanger and a stocking.

i got a pop filter, dont dont use it sometimes

also i didn't use "synths" or whatever, i just have samplles and the drums, thats it. nothing else

Well that synth sample is from a keyboard somewhere thats all im saying . Its synth like. And the drums didnt go well with the synth. Its a good structure dont get me wrong. damn, correct me if im wrong but your takign all this offensivly, the synth sound is the sample thats not drum in your mix, if you cant understand that then well go jump of the golden gate bridge hommie. the synth sound is produced by a synthisizer and in your case you used a synth sample. get it? and he said you ruined a jedi minds song cuz you have a track over jedi minds beat but thats what he meant i guess

haha i understand ok. Your sample were made by synth majority of sample are made by a synth. Not saying you made it but some were down the line they're made by a synth. i didnt like the synth sample the sound of it was to cheazy for me but thats my taste as for the drums, They remind me to much of 80's metal, But everything else timing, tempo, and structure was good. keep up the work

damn homie did you sample that SYNTHY SOUND off of a cypress hill joint? I know I hear that sound before I just cant quite remember right now!!!!
