A simple MIDI recording program for Mac OSX????

Gents and Ladies,
I am in need of a very simple MIDI recording program. All I need it to do is play back MIDI files recorded from my MPC2000XL. I want to hook up my keyboard to the Mac using a USB MIDI device and have it play the MIDI file which was originally recorded on the MPC. Basically, I want to be able to sample the keyboard with the MPC while the computer controls the keyboard. Does that make sense? I wish the MPC had a resampling function like the Ensoniq ASR-X, but this is the easiest work around I could come up with. I don't want to use a memory-hog type program like ProTools or Logic, just something simple. If it's free or shareware, then I'm interested.

I did download a shareware program called QMidi. If anyone has experience with it, let me know.

the mpc has a resample function not like the asr ,i know what ya mean , u said u dont want pro tools?????? why not it solves your problems and then some. mbox is 450 brand new

i gotta go with OSK on this one though if you want detailed control of your midi from a soft side pick up Logic or PT6 LE, you can just record your midi notes across the board and play them back on different midi channels to your mpc pads/keyboard, etc.
