I like it. It needs to be developed a bit further by Native Instruments (see http://www.mpc-forums.com/viewtopic.php ... 2#p1014432) , but it has a lot of potential. The thing I like most about Maschine is that it handles like hardware and has the pros of software.

thanks man :P

its in surprisingly good condition atleast compared to what the seller told me when i asked about it, he said the screen is lil dim and all but i really havent found anything wrong with the screen, he also said that the number buttons have to be pressed very sharply to make em work but i havent had any problems with them either, only con is that the 8-faders knob was nowhere to be found...

thanks for the links, ive been lurking around in the forums sice last week, looking forward to participate more there i might need to ask some stupid questions about midi-ing the sp with my 2000xl too haha cause i really dont have no idea how it works as iva only used the mpc 2000xl for 3 stand alone...

hmm i wonder if the dude actually had cleaned the buttons cause i was surprised too that i didnt find no shit in the edges of the pads

That was my case to, so I ordered 8 new fader knobs/caps for like nothing: got 8 for my friend too.

Get in touch with rob at emulator archive . com that's the dude that sold me them. I think it was like 15 bucks for those 16 included shipping from the UK.

reckone, have you posted a picture of your studio yet? I'm curious now after listening to your beats.
By Rinko Mon Mar 23, 2009 10:42 pm
here you go.

minimal but that's what i'm feeling at the moment...kept flitting between this and a laptop setup (Live 7, softsynths and programming languages like ChucK) but i've barely finished anything in years now. need to focus. the more i learn about technology and methods the more i become indecisive...pathetic but ignorance is bliss. don't even think certain things need a logical explanation, they just feel right.

plan to do everything on this from creation to mixdown. a 4-track and a lo-fi sampler are tempting for grit and character but i'll see how it goes.

if anyone sees me buying any more equipment then come and slap me.

^^looks a bit small but the good thing about this is that everything you need is easy to reach. I would buy something like the IKEA Expedit 2x4 to put the vinyl in (free up space in front of the couch). Dont know but I like this small room very much. Just chill at the couch and listen to some records. Nice. Oh and dont you use speaker?

peace

Image This is my latest set-up including my homeboy's x8. He can't get the hang of it and wants to get a triton because he used to have one and knows how to operate it.
He said keep the fantom as long as I like and just give him some beats. sweeeeet!!!!
By Rinko Tue Mar 24, 2009 10:17 am
@ peterpiper

cheers for the ikea tip, it is a bit cosy but i like that :) a few posters or something wouldn't go amiss either...if i could fit a kettle in then i'd never have to leave!

i wanna try using headphones only for a bit. i realise they have a number of limitations re: monitoring but:

-i like the way they immerse you in your music more
-i want to make music that other people can immerse themselves in the same way (rather than club-oriented stuff)
-my crappy hi-fi speakers don't add a great deal to the set-up
-there's not really room for them anyway

@dee good

a free fantom? amazin!
